What is blending water? Could you give us some background about the product?
Blending Water serves as a mixer for spirits, it preserves and enhances the authentic taste of the spirits while ensuring a smooth drinking experience. When spirits like whisky are poured into a glass, the heavy ethanol content rises to the top which forms a barrier between the flavour-producing compounds and your senses. Blending Water breaks the ethanol barrier, allowing your senses to perceive more flavonoids for the consumer to taste the hidden flavours of their favourite spirits, along with a much cleaner gulp for a smooth drinking experience.

Need to launch blending water as a category in India, and how did you come up with the idea?
About majority of Asian whisky drinkers add water, but using different types of mixers alters the taste of the spirit. For example, if one pours four glasses of the same whisky and add bottled, RO, mineral, and tap water—they’ll all taste different. The different types of water significantly impact the spirit’s flavour. We saw this challenge as an opportunity for bringing our science and experience to the spirits industry. Tapping into the global inconsistencies in the taste of matured spirits prompted the need to build a brand that could simplify the problem and deliver consistency in flavours. Through extensive research and science backed experiments, we launched world’s first blending water – Estuary Blending Water, in India in 2020. Estuary identifies the need for a consistent, high-quality water that complements spirits, ensuring an authentic distillery experience.
