The Quality Council of India (QCI) and Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) have collaborated to enhance awareness and participation in the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme (MCLS) of Ministry of MSME among the members of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), typically Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The MoU outlines a roadmap for collaborative initiatives, including awareness programs, camps, and consultations at state and district levels, to facilitate the adoption of Lean principles & sustainable practices under the scheme among the LUB members. To ensure smooth implementation, a designated nodal officer from each organization will act as a single point of contact for all MCLS-related matters.
In this collaboration, NABET being one of the Implementing Agency for the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme (MCLS), will encourage LUB members to register for the scheme & will provide necessary support in the matter. It will also provide assistance to the LUB members for their progression in the Lean Journey from Lean Basic to the Lean Intermediate and finally to achieve the Lean Advance level.

We will actively facilitate NABET in reaching out to its members by organizing various meetings and programs. Additionally, LUB will ensure that its members not only enrol in the basic level but also progress through the different levels of the scheme.”
Shri Rajesh Maheshwari, Secretary General of QCI, highlighted the strategic importance of the MoU, emphasizing, “The collaboration between NABET-QCI and LUB will play a crucial role in guiding MSMEs through the Lean journey, from awareness to implementation, ensuring long-term success and market readiness.”

Emphasizing the role of NABET in creating awareness and providing support to LUB members, Prof. (Dr.) Varinder Kanwar, CEO of NABET, stated, “Our focus is on enabling MSMEs to adopt Lean methodologies effectively, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing competitiveness through the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme. We will be providing continuous support to the LUB members completing basic level of the scheme, for the activities related to intermediate and Advance levels of MCLS.”
