The GreenCo Champion Award is bestowed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to those organizations that can prove a worthy commitment to environmental sustainability in their people, processes, and policies. Through the active participation of a large number of operational units in the GreenCo rating system of CII, GAIL has been conferred with this award. The system-wise performance assessment considers energy efficiency, water and waste management, renewable energy use, green supply chain, and even carbon footprint reduction.
In addition to this notable achievement, GAIL’s Jagadishpur-Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline (JHBDPL) – Ranchi Section and the Kochi-Koottanad-Bangalore-Mangalore Pipeline (KKBMPL) – Kochi Section were both awarded the ‘GreenCo Platinum Rating’, the highest rating under the GreenCo framework. These accolades mark a significant milestone in GAIL’s sustainability journey, bringing the total number of GreenCo-certified GAIL sites to 10.
