Dr. Kamal Chhabra, Could you begin by telling what Tech4Ed is all about and what inspired this international conference?
Tech4Ed started as a simple idea. Education was changing fast, but the people shaping policy, teaching in classrooms, and hiring in industry were not speaking to each other often enough. The gap was visible. Students wanted guidance. Institutions wanted clarity. Employers wanted skills that matched real roles. The first edition showed how much a platform like this was needed. Leaders from different fields came together and spoke honestly about what was working and what was missing. That response encouraged us to build Tech4Ed into a space where conversations are practical and focused on outcomes.
This year’s theme focuses on “AI for Education and Skills.” How do you see Artificial Intelligence transforming the future of learning and employability?
AI is changing how people learn apart from the way companies hire. Students now study through tools that understand how they learn as well as where they slow down and what kind of support works for them. It makes learning more personal & less dependent on one teaching style. On the industry side, every role in finance, accounting, taxation, analytics, & compliance now touches technology in some way or the other. Companies want professionals who are comfortable with data, tools & aware of the global standards they need to keep up with. AI has made those expectations sharper. Also, the students who prepare with this reality in mind stand out faster.
Tech4Ed brings together policymakers alongside academicians & industry leaders. What kind of collaborations or outcomes do you envision emerging from this platform?
The aim is simple. Put the right people in one room and let the conversation move toward workable solutions. Institutions get exposure to what employers expect. Industry leaders talk openly about the skills they need. Policymakers hear grounded feedback from both sides. From last year’s and this year’s editions, we already see MoUs for skill development, joint programs, and collaborative research take shape. These are small steps, but they help institutions modernise faster and give students access to opportunities that normally stay limited to large campuses.

How many delegates, participants, and institutions were part of Tech4Ed 2025, and from which regions they joined?
Tech4Ed 2025 brought together a strong mix of participants. There were delegates from more than ten countries, along with senior leaders from government, education, and industry. The event included more than one hundred vice-chancellors, three hundred senior academic leaders, twenty international delegates, twenty industry leaders, and senior government officials.
For students and educators, what key takeaways or opportunities does the conference aimed to provide?
For students, the goal is clarity. They meet experts who explain how global exams work as well as what employers expect. It is also about AI shaping new roles. Moreover, students also get a clearer picture of careers in finance & taxation across a wide spectrum. Now when we talk about educators: the conference brings exposure to updated teaching practices alongside curriculum ideas & how institutions across countries are adopting technology. It helps them rethink how classrooms can function in a world where learning has moved beyond textbooks.

With rapid advancements in AI, what do you believe are the essential skills today’s youth must develop to stay future-ready?
The youth need to have some strong fundamentals along with the ability to work with data. Communication skills & problem-solving matter in the long run. AI is helpful, but it has also raised the expectations from every professional. Young people must stay open to continuous learning, & understand global standards. There also need to be curiosity about how technology shapes their field. Those who combine clarity in concepts with digital fluency will stay ahead in the long run.
Finally, how do you see Tech4Ed evolving in the coming years? Could it become a recurring global platform for education-technology dialogue?
Tech4Ed has the potential to become a global annual platform. The growing participation along with wider international presence & the quality of discussions show that people are finding value in it.
