Can you please share some insights into what sparked the idea of entering the robotics market, specifically for the hotel and service industries?
Categorically, I wouldn’t say it was always my dream to build robots. My professional journey over the past 20 years has been deeply rooted in technology and corporate business. My last role was with Nissan Motors, where I worked on projects connecting technology with human needs. After leaving the corporate world, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey nearly five years ago.
Initially, my focus was purely on building impactful technology solutions. Over time, I saw the transformative potential of autonomous systems in enhancing everyday life. That realization inspired me to create something that could operate in the front office—something that interacts directly with humans and improves their lives. This vision became the foundation of Alphadroid. Our aim was to specialize in robotics for the hospitality sector, public spaces, and healthcare facilities, creating robots that enhance human experiences and efficiency.
What was the pivotal moment that led to the creation of Alphadroid, and what challenges and opportunities have you encountered along the way?
During my travels to various Asian countries, I was fascinated by their integration of smart technologies into everyday life. Even for the smallest tasks, technology played a vital role. Observing this sparked the realization that similar opportunities existed in India and the Western world, where such technologies were still underutilized.
Our strategy initially focused on targeting international markets to establish a revenue stream. However, India excited me as both a testing ground and a market for locally manufactured products. Setting up R&D and manufacturing here was a deliberate decision, even though the adoption curve was slower than expected.
To my surprise, India’s response to this technology has been phenomenal. While some five-star and seven-star properties initially hesitated, fearing the loss of human touch, they eventually recognized that our robots were designed to empower their staff, not replace them. This shift in perception marked a major milestone for us.
What sets Alphadroid robots apart in terms of design, functionality, and adaptability?
Robotics, as a field, is not new; it has long excelled in back-office operations and, more recently, in logistics and warehouses. However, front-office robotics—where machines interact directly with humans—requires a completely different approach.
Alphadroid stands out because of its unique AI engine, which is conversational, expressive, and empathetic. Our robots are designed to connect with humans on an emotional level, going beyond functionality to become companions or “buddies.”
This is where we differentiate ourselves. Our robots don’t feel like mere machines—they feel alive. They’re equipped with intelligence and emotional nuances, making human interaction seamless and natural. By prioritizing this human-centric design, we’ve created a solution that uplifts both operational efficiency and the overall customer experience.

How is Alphadroid advancing in healthcare and public spaces?
When we began our journey, we took on the challenge of integrating robots into dynamic environments like hotels, restaurants, events, and corporate offices. These spaces are inherently complex because they require robots to directly interact with humans in uncontrolled scenarios—engaging with guests, navigating unpredictable interactions, and adapting to diverse situations. We deliberately started here to test our capabilities and refine our solutions in the most demanding settings.
Building on those learnings, we have now ventured into healthcare. In this sector, Alphadroid is addressing smaller but critical operational challenges—like delivering medicines to wards, transporting meals to patients, and ensuring smooth sample transfers from collection centers to laboratories. These seemingly minor tasks add immense value by improving efficiency and reducing human workload. This same philosophy is driving our entry into other sectors, as we aim to solve real-world problems with smart technology.
As a young company—just two years into our journey—our growth curve has been rapid. However, we remain committed to learning from industries and making thoughtful adjustments to deploy robots that truly serve human needs in meaningful ways.
What role does human-robot collaboration play in redefining customer service?
Customer service is more than just deploying robots; it’s about transforming the entire ecosystem to enhance the customer experience. Take hotels as an example: when a guest arrives, they can opt for self-check-in, assisted by our virtual avatar. This avatar enables a seamless check-in process in just three clicks. From there, our robots take over tasks like delivering luggage to the guest’s room. Once in the room, the same avatar can handle requests—whether it’s placing an order, making a service request, or providing information.
Our focus is on integrating every aspect of the customer lifecycle with smart machines and technologies. Humans are brought into the equation only where their unique touch and expertise add value. This creates a connected experience where technology and human skills work together to enhance overall satisfaction. By redefining these touchpoints, we are setting a new standard for customer-centric innovation across industries.
How do you address concerns about robots replacing human jobs while positioning them as tools to augment human productivity?
This is a common question we encounter globally, and our answer lies in what we call the “3 Ds”—Dry, Dangerous, and Dirty jobs. Alphadroid focuses on creating smart solutions for these types of roles, which are typically monotonous or undesirable for humans. For example, tasks like carrying plates from a kitchen to a table are not fulfilling for anyone. These are the areas where our robots step in, enabling humans to focus on jobs that require skill, creativity, and personal engagement.Far from replacing humans, we are empowering them to pursue more meaningful work and contribute in areas where they can truly shine. In a world where skilled manpower is increasingly in demand, our technology enhances human efficiency and ensures that people are free to focus on roles that align with their capabilities and aspirations.
Especially in countries like India, where the potential for improving the quality of life is immense, we aim to replace menial tasks with machines, freeing humans to engage in more fulfilling and impactful activities. This shift doesn’t just enhance productivity; it contributes to greater happiness and well-being. Our goal is to build a future where technology and humanity coexist in a way that maximizes the potential of both.
With over two decades of experience in autonomous systems, what key lessons have shaped Alphadroid’s approach to innovation?
Innovation is undeniably crucial, especially for a technology-driven company like ours. At Alphadroid, our approach revolves around delivering purposeful solutions that address real-world challenges. Our innovations are not just about technology for the sake of it but about creating significant value in our focus areas. At the core of our mission lies a commitment to improving human life through meaningful advancements in robotics and automation.
What is your long-term vision for Alphadroid?
Our journey began with a strong emphasis on raising awareness about robotics and their transformative potential. Early on, we dedicated ourselves to educating the industry about how robotics could enhance human life and augment rather than replace jobs. We sought to dispel misconceptions shaped by popular media, emphasizing that our robots are not science fiction creations but practical tools designed for specific ecosystems.
Over time, this awareness-building evolved into fostering trust among our customers. Today, we see growing acceptance and enthusiasm for our technology in India, with demand scaling significantly. While establishing a strong foundation domestically, we are simultaneously expanding our international presence in markets like the UK, the US, and the Middle East. Our vision is to position Alphadroid as a “Make in India, for the world” brand, offering globally competitive robotics solutions
From an industry perspective, we started with hospitality and gradually ventured into retail and healthcare. Over the next 16 to 18 months, our aim is to establish Alphadroid as a leader in front-office robotics across multiple verticals, ensuring our products solve real problems effectively.
How have your customers responded to the integration of Alphadroid’s robots into their businesses?
I believe there are different types of customers. First, there are those who have been eagerly waiting for these technologies to be part of their ecosystem. These customers are our true advisers and mentors—they engage with us, collaborate with us, and help us improve and refine the product. This makes up a large portion of our customer base.
The second type of customers are those who recognize that robotics is the future and are willing to experiment with us. They may not yet have a definitive opinion, but they are open to change.
Then, there are those who acknowledge that these technologies will shape the future but are not prepared to adopt them just yet. This could be due to financial constraints or a lack of readiness to integrate such advancements into their businesses, fearing it might affect their customer experience. These customers are more in the observation phase, waiting to see how the technology evolves and what value it brings.
However, I would say there is a positive shift toward acceptance. I believe that, in the coming months, we will see robots becoming a regular part of public spaces on a larger scale. Eventually, everyone will have to adopt these technologies in order to remain sustainable in the future. At this point, we are pioneering the acceptance of such technologies, but the shift is happening, and it’s exciting to be part of it.
One thing that surprised us was how our vision for retail was significantly altered. When we started working with one of the major Indian retail giants, they taught us the best ways to integrate mobility into retail stores. Now, in some of these stores, you can see Alphadroid robots actively running. These robots don’t just promote advertisements—they also enhance customer engagement by sharing the brand story. Every brand wants to clearly communicate its message to customers, and our robots help facilitate that.
To our surprise, these robots are solving new challenges for brands, creating valuable interactions with customers. We’re learning a lot as we go, and it’s great to see the unexpected benefits unfold.
How do you incorporate customer feedback into refining and evolving Alphadroid’s robotic solutions?
Customer feedback is absolutely crucial to us. That’s why we haven’t adopted a mass-production model for our robot deployments. These technologies are still in a very nascent stage, and it’s vital for us to stay connected with our customers and end users to understand their expectations. We want to bridge the gap between what is possible, what is necessary, and what adds real value.
Customer feedback is invaluable in this process. For example, some of our experts have conducted deep dive studies in the retail sector to understand the value our robots bring when driving brand promotions, and how that compares to stores without robots. These small, detailed studies are essential. We’re also engaging directly with shoppers to gather feedback and incorporate it into our product development process.
It’s a fundamental part of our approach, and it helps us make meaningful improvements to our robotic solutions.

Lastly, what can we expect next from Alphadroid in its journey to revolutionize service industries?
Apart from continuing to develop the right products, we are committed to two key areas:
First, we are working closely with government bodies to ensure our robots address fundamental challenges in public spaces, particularly in rural areas. We believe technology can make a significant difference in these areas, and we want to play a role in that transformation.
Second, we are focused on empowering India’s education and manufacturing sectors. Our goal is to help India stand tall on the global stage, competing with leading manufacturing countries. We want to make India proud by creating homegrown solutions that are globally competitive.
So, these are the two areas where you can certainly expect Alphadroid to make a positive and lasting impact.
